
Passes
Passes are available for the whole Festival, or for one day only. These passes include all classes, milongas and practicas but not the Shows at Symphony Space (tickets purchased separately, click on SHOWS). A One-Day Pass is valid for all classes, milongas and practicas on that day only and cannot be wholly or partly transferred to another day.

If you want to come to the milongas and/or practicas only, there is no need to register ahead, please just show up and pay cash at the door.
There is no preregistration for single classes.

Registration form
When you sign up for a pass, you will be asked whether you will lead or follow and what your level is.
Each level has 3 classes, one with each teac`her on each day, for a total of 9 classes in the Festival Pass, or 3 for a Day Pass. The practicas are all-level.
Your level determines your program. For example, if you sign up as an Advanced level Leader, you will be in each advanced class as a leader.
We regret it is not possible to take different level classes on the same day, or to register for classes only with one teacher couple and not with others. But it is possible to be a leader one day and a follower another day, or to be in one level one day and in another level the next day. You can mix and match days, as long as you do the same level and role in the three classes of the same day. In this case, please choose the option Lead/follow different day/levels, and explain in the box at the bottom what you want. Examples: "Lead Beginners Friday, follow in Intermediate Saturday and Sunday". "Follow in Intermediate Friday and Sat, follow in Advanced Sunday".
The reason for this is that there are limited spaces in each class and we anticipate a lot of guests; it is essential that all the classes fill up at the same rate in order for all participants to have equal opportunity to study with Julio and Corina, Pablo and Dana, and Pablo and Noel, at their own level.

Gender balance
You do not need a partner to sign up. We will gender-balance the classes so that everybody always has a partner to dance with. We will rotate partners, but you may stay with your own partner if you prefer. In the event more leaders or more followers sign up for a particular level/day, we may have to temporarily suspend or close registration for the overrepresented gender for that level/day. We recommend partners to sign up at the same time while the class is still open for both genders, in order to avoid one of them being locked out of a class. Once a class is full for your gender, it really is full: you can no longer sign up for it regardless of whether or not you have a partner. There is a 24 hour grace period in the following situation: as long as one partner signs up before the class is closed to the other gender and puts the other partner's name in their form, and the other partner signs up and pays less than 24 hours after the first partner, you will both be assured of a spot.

Class levels
All classes are designed to be challenging for their level. When deciding what level you should choose, please consider that in each class, the teachers will not spend any time on techniques that you should have mastered before you came to the class. Please sign up for the level you are, not the level you want to be.

Payment
For your convenience and security, we offer online payments by credit card, debit card or Paypal, all handled by Paypal on their secure website. We regret we are unable to accept checks. At the Festival location, we can only accept cash in payment for passes, or for individual classes (if any), practicas or milongas.
When you sign up online and pay, you will receive a copy of your festival registration AND a receipt for your payment at the email address you specify. We receive notification of your credit card or Paypal payment within a few minutes after you sign up. Debit card payments may take a few hours or overnight. If you do not receive a receipt for your payment or it does not appear on your bank statement, you should assume it has not gone through. In this case please accept our apologies, and try again. If your payment does not come through, we regret we will be unable to honor your registration. If you experience recurrent problems, please let us know.

Student discounts
A 50% student discount is available to full-time undergraduate and graduate students with a valid ID from a recognized university. Please bring your ID to the registration desk. If you are unable to produce your student ID, you will be asked to produce the price difference in order to obtain admission. There are only limited half-price spots available. When these spots are gone, only full price spots will be available.

To pick up your pass
When you arrive at the Festival location, please go to the registration desk to pick up your pass and schedule. For your protection, you should pick up your own pass, as it cannot be be picked up by somebody with a different last name. The registration desk (except on Thursday) will be in Roone Auditorium on the ground floor of the Alfred Lerner building where all the classes and milongas will take place. Please reserve sufficient time to pick up your pass, as there may be a crowd at registration just before the first class of the day starts.

Print a schedule
You will receive a schedule at the registration desk, or you can print out the down-loadable schedule in .pdf format from this website (please check back here a week before the Festival).

Cancellations
If you cancel before September 20, we can refund 50%. On or after this date, no refunds can be made. If you find that you are unable to attend, you may transfer your pass to another person (same Festival or Day Pass, for your gender and level, or any other gender and level provided it is still available at that time). Student passes can be transferred to another student, or by paying the difference (if it is the other way around, we cannot refund the difference).
To do this, please email us from the email address used when you first signed up, and name the person who will take your spot. For your protection, we will confirm by return email. Then, have your replacement fill out a registration form but not send payment, and we will take care of it.
